Mango Airlines has confirmed that passengers holding a ticket to Zanzibar, or passengers transiting through Zanzibar, will be allowed to board the Johannesburg to Zanzibar flight scheduled for departure on Tuesday 27 April 2021.However passengers will need to book a return flight on an alternative carrier.
27 April departure on Mango Airlines JNB-ZNZ
- Communication from Mango Airlines has advised that passengers should be allowed to depart on the 27 April flight. However, passengers will be required to book a return flight on an alternative carrier. Passengers will not be able to use their return flight with Mango Airlines.
- You may wish to cancel your Mango booking altogether and rebook on an alternative carrier. This can be done however will be at the passenger’s cost. You may also wish to cancel your entire booking or reschedule for dates later in the year.
- Flight Centre has not received a reaccommodation policy from Mango Airlines as yet therefore the group unfortunately commit to a refund/credit/voucher or any other reimbursement from Mango Airlines.

Zanzibar bookings beyond 1 May until at least 30 June
- Based on the limited information we have from Mango Airlines, the airline will stop operating from 1 May until the end of June 2021. All bookings during this time period will be affected.
- If you wish to proceed with your travel and book with an alternative carrier or cancel or postpone your Mango booking, you may do so but unfortunately will be at your cost. Your Travel Expert will be able to advise options available to you, from the information the airline has provided at this stage.

Domestic bookings
- Based on the limited information we have from Mango Airlines at this time, domestic bookings should be operating until 1 May 2021.
- From 1 May until 30 June 2021, customers will need to make alternative arrangements at their own cost on another carrier.
- If you wish to cancel or postpone your travel, you may do so – your Travel Expert will be able to provide you with available options and details pertaining to your specific booking.
- If you have domestic land arrangements (hotel bookings) confirmed with Flight Centre, attached to your Mango booking, and you cancel this hotel booking more than 24 hours prior to check in, please check with your Travel Expert if Flight Centre’s Moneyback Guarantee applies to your hotel booking.
